About $3 per negotiation

Most negotiations cost about $3. The minimum top-up is $5, which usually covers a negotiation with money to spare. Longer or contested negotiations can cost more, and you'll always see your balance live.

You can also pick a custom amount between $3 and $500 if you'd rather start smaller or top up bigger. Purchased credits are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

How billing works

A negotiation is the thing you're working through with the AI mediator: laying out your side, weighing options, drafting positions, and (when you're ready) finding agreement with the other party. It usually takes several rounds of back-and-forth.

Each message you send debits credit based on how much the AI processed for you. You'll see your remaining balance at the top of every screen, so there are no surprises. You can stop and come back later. Your progress is saved.

Inviting the other party

When you start a negotiation, your balance covers the AI costs for both sides: yours and anyone you invite. This matches how traditional mediation works (the party who engages the mediator pays for the process). Inviting someone is one click; they don't need to add a balance themselves.

A typical two-party negotiation costs about $6 total (roughly twice a solo session), and you'll see your balance live as it changes.

Why we price this way

Traditional mediation runs $1,000–$30,000. That price filters out the disputes that need it most: roommate disagreements, freelance contracts, contested estates, family arrangements, founder splits, anything where the cost of mediation exceeds the cost of just walking away angry.

Mediator.ai is built so the price never becomes the reason you don't try. The AI handles the structure that human mediators charge for (drafting, scoring options, surfacing tradeoffs) at the cost of the underlying compute, plus a small margin so we can keep the lights on.

Refunds

If something goes wrong on our end (we charge you for a message that didn't complete, or the assistant fails in a way that's clearly our fault), email us at hello@mediator.ai and we'll refund the credit. Unused balance refunds are available on request.
