Household Quiet Hours and Guest Policy Agreement
1. Parties
1.1. This Agreement is entered into by the House Manager, Jordan Martinez, and Tenant, Casey Nguyen, along with input from other house tenants.
1.2. The purpose of this Agreement is to establish clear and balanced guidelines for quiet hours and guest policies that respect diverse lifestyles and ensure a harmonious living environment.
2. Quiet Hours
2.1. Daily Quiet Periods
2.1.1. Weekdays: Quiet hours shall be observed from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. During these periods, common areas and adjacent rooms must maintain low noise levels to allow for sleep and work-related rest.
2.1.2. Weekends: Quiet hours shall be maintained from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Noise during nighttime hours should be kept at a level that does not disrupt the sleep of those with non-traditional schedules.
2.2. Designated Quiet Zones
2.2.1. Bedrooms and any designated rest areas shall be considered quiet zones during the above quiet hours.
2.2.2. Shared spaces may be used for social activities provided noise levels are kept minimal and respectful of those resting.
3. Guest Policy
3.1. General Guest Provisions
3.1.1. Guests are permitted a maximum of two nights per week per tenant in common areas, subject to prior notice.
3.1.2. No overnight guest stays are permitted in any tenant’s personal room unless all house tenants consent in writing.
3.2. Notification Requirement
3.2.1. Tenants hosting a gathering or having guests that might extend beyond normal visiting hours must provide at least 48 hours’ notice to all other tenants.
3.2.2. Host tenants shall detail expected hours, number of guests, and any noise mitigation measures (e.g., using common areas away from sleeping spaces or soundproof equipment).
4. Exceptions and Flexibility
4.1. Special Circumstances
4.1.1. Tenant Casey Nguyen’s need for uninterrupted daytime rest is acknowledged. Any exception requests affecting daytime quiet hours (e.g., planned social events) must include proposals for mitigating disturbance, such as use of alternative areas and temporary soundproofing measures.
4.1.2. Exceptional cases (e.g., pre-approved work shifts or medical needs) may be accommodated subject to consensus among tenants.
4.2. Review and Adjustment
4.2.1. This Agreement shall be reviewed on a monthly basis to consider adjustments to quiet hours or the guest policy based on evolving tenant needs.
4.2.2. Any amendment shall be agreed upon by a majority of tenants, with special attention to maintaining essential quiet periods for shift workers.
5. Enforcement and Dispute Resolution
5.1. Reporting and Response
5.1.1. Should a breach of quiet hours or guest policy occur, the House Manager will issue a verbal reminder and request corrective action at the earliest opportunity.
5.1.2. If the behavior continues, a written notice will be issued outlining the violation and potential consequences.
5.2. Mediation
5.2.1. In the case of recurring disputes, affected parties agree to engage in mediation facilitated by the House Manager or an impartial third-party mediator.
5.2.2. If mediation does not result in a resolution, tenants retain the right to seek further external advice or housing mediation services.
6. Agreement Duration
6.1. This Agreement is effective upon signing and shall remain in force until a revised agreement is enacted.
6.2. A trial period of 30 days shall be instituted to assess the practicality of these terms, after which a review meeting will be held to determine whether modifications are necessary.
